Sun City Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV

In 2014 Melody and I decided it was time to leave the two story lake house and move closer to her mom and our Mountain View Presbyterian Church in NW Las Vegas. We decided to look in a 55+ community with one story homes. In March 2015, we leased a home in Sun City Summerlin, Las Vegas. We found this area to be the best fit for us. We are now a few minutes from church and Melody's mom. Then in August of 2017, we purchased a town home in the Sun City Summerlin area. We don't golf, but we now live on the 16th hole of a golf course. Our home is some 15 miles from the Strip, which we only drive to for shows.

Sun City Summerlin is a 55+ year active-adult community organized in the City of Las Vegas, by Del Webb Corporation in 1989. It is one of the nation’s premiere adult communities with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the Las Vegas Strip. Sun City Summerlin is located mere minutes from the glamorous action of downtown Las Vegas and the fabled Strip. Del Webb's Sun City Summerlin is part of the Summerlin master-planned community on the western edge of Las Vegas. This well-established neighborhood boasts tree-lined streets, great shopping, top-notch restaurants and award winning resorts, casinos and spas. Sun City Summerlin features more amenities than any other active adult community in Las Vegas. Among the 7, 779 homes are extensive recreation facilities, 4 fitness centers, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, three 18-hole golf courses, and extensive green belt areas. Residents enjoy many popular theatrical and musical performances as well as movies and guest speakers.
