Marco's Minot Coffee Club
Sad Day for Macro's Coffee Group . . . .
But it was the Right Time
Tues., May 21, 2019, Marco's Coffee Club Pres. Henry Milkey turned the club's lawn mowers over to a representative of First Western Bank of Minot. First Western Bank took over the lawn mowing duties as a community project. The coffee group had been mowing the grass around the Minot signs coming into Minot for many, many years. As the group (pictured below) aged they decided it was time to pass the mowers on and First Western was a good fit. Pres. Milkey always saw to it that the weeds were kept under control and the mowing was done on a regular time frame. He also made sure the mowers were in good working order and filled with gas. All the mowers were donated by local Minot businesses. This project was Henry's baby!!!

1953-54 Coteau Elks
Coteau was part of District 24, and Region 6 in Class C. They were also in the Border League.
During the regular season Coteau played in the Border League Tournament where they placed 2nd to Flaxton, as Flaxton subdued the Elks in a close one, 54-53.
In the Burke County Tournament Coteau would once again fall victim in the championship game, this time to the Bowbells Eskimos, 51-50.
Apparently Coteau liked to play close games as in District 24 play first round Coteau defeated DesLacs Lakers 43-42, but then succumbed to the Glenburn Panthers 43-41, in sudden death overtime.
Coteau would finish out there season with a 67-46 victory over the Carpio Cardinals to secure the 3rd place trophy. Coteau finished their season with a 24-7 record.
Coteau players named to the All-District team were:
Roger Erickson
Larry Wahlund
Coteau is located 70 miles Northwest of Minot. Near Kenmare and Bowbells.
Larry's wife Edwina Peterson was a cheer leader. How cool is that.
The Macro's Coffee Group Moves to the Driveway
With the COVID-19 virus the coffee group gathers on club member Rod Romine's driveway for coffee and socializing. What a great idea to keep the guys together. (Thanks to Bob Sundberg for the photos)
